Samsung expands One UI 9 rollout to more Galaxy A and M phones

Samsung has expanded the rollout of its One UI 9 update based on Android 17, bringing the software to more of its mid-range and budget smartphones after an initial release for flagship Galaxy devices.
The Galaxy A35 is among the latest models to receive the update. The rollout began in South Korea before reaching beta participants and then other users in India, according to Samsung software tracker Tarun Vats.
The update is now expanding internationally, with Europe among the next markets, Forbes reported.
Samsung has also started distributing One UI 9 to the Galaxy A55 in Europe, following earlier releases in India and South Korea. The Galaxy M54 is receiving the update globally, while the rugged Galaxy XCover 7 Pro has received it in South Korea.
The Galaxy A17 users in India have also started receiving the One UI 9 update.
Several more devices could follow before the end of the week. Vats expects Samsung to begin stable releases in South Korea for the Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy A54, Galaxy A34, Galaxy A15 and Galaxy Tab S11 series.
Users can check for the update by opening Settings, selecting Software update and tapping Download and install.
Flagship rollout already well under way
Samsung has already released One UI 9 for several generations of its premium smartphones, including the Galaxy S26, S25, S24 and S23 series.
The update has also reached the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, as well as Samsung’s newer foldable models. Unlocked versions of the Galaxy S23 series in the US were among the most recent flagship devices to receive Android 17.
For some older devices, One UI 9 may represent one of their final major Android upgrades. Forbes noted that it is likely to be the last Android version released for the Galaxy S23 series under Samsung’s existing update policy.
