Mitya or Furina in Genshin Impact 7.2: Who deserves your Primogems?

Genshin Impact 7.2 has launched two limited five-star character banners featuring newcomer Mitya and returning fan favourite Furina. Both became available on 4 November and will remain active until 24 November.

For players with limited Primogems, the choice depends on their existing characters. Mitya specialises in the new Stellar-Conduct reaction, while Furina remains a versatile support for teams built around conventional damage.

Both banners also feature the new four-star Electro support Valeriy alongside Cryo characters Charlotte and Rosaria.

Is Mitya worth pulling in Genshin Impact 7.2?

Mitya is a five-star Electro Catalyst character from Snezhnaya who can deal damage and enable Stellar-Conduct reactions.

According to the official update notes, his abilities allow the party to trigger Stellar-Conduct, with a Polestar Field that follows the active character during combat.

Unlike characters designed mainly for personal damage, Mitya can support reaction-focused teams while contributing damage himself.

His abilities also increase Stellar-Conduct damage based on Elemental Mastery. This makes him particularly useful alongside characters who can take advantage of the reaction, including Odette and Cryo or Electro damage dealers.

Mitya’s first Constellation further improves his supporting capabilities by increasing the active character’s CRIT DMG while his Detection Core is present.

However, his value falls considerably outside Stellar-Conduct teams. Players who have not invested in the relevant characters may struggle to justify spending their wishes on him.

Mitya is therefore a stronger option for players developing Stellar-Conduct compositions than for those seeking a general-purpose support.

Is Furina still worth pulling?

Furina, the five-star Hydro character from Fontaine, returns with a considerably more established role.

Her Elemental Burst increases party damage through Fanfare stacks, which accumulate as teammates’ HP changes. Her Elemental Skill can also deal off-field Hydro damage, allowing the active character to continue attacking.

The main limitation is her reliance on healing. Furina’s damage-focused summons consume party HP, so pairing her with a capable healer helps maintain both survivability and damage bonuses.

She works particularly well with established damage dealers such as Neuvillette, Skirk, Hu Tao and Mavuika.

However, her damage bonus does not directly increase damage from newer Lunar and Stellar reactions. This reduces her usefulness in teams where those reactions account for much of the damage.

For players building conventional teams, Furina remains a valuable choice. Those already focused on newer reaction mechanics may gain less from another Hydro support.

Should you pull for Mitya or Furina?

Furina is generally the safer investment for players who do not own either character, particularly those still developing several teams.

Her off-field damage and team-wide buffs offer more flexibility across different line-ups.

Mitya is the better choice for players who already have the characters needed to maximise Stellar-Conduct damage. His specialised abilities make him more attractive for that playstyle than for general team building.

Players who already own Furina should consider Mitya if they want to develop a new reaction-focused team rather than strengthen an existing one.

There is also no need to pull immediately. HoYoverse has introduced a Test Run event, allowing players to try the featured characters before spending their Primogems.

The new four-star character Valeriy will also join the standard wish pool in the following version, so players interested only in obtaining him do not need to chase his current rate-up.

For those saving for future characters, skipping both banners remains an option. Version 7.2’s second phase will feature returning five-star characters Zibai and Linnea from 24 November.
