Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have signed an agreement on the delimitation of their state border. The document was signed in Bishkek.
This treaty also includes intergovernmental agreements related to energy facilities, water resources, road communications and the construction of new highways.

In recent decades, there have been over 230 documented cases of armed clashes in the region. In 2022, an escalation of conflict led to the evacuation of approximately 140,000 people.
