Uzbekistan has signed agreements with major companies from China and the UAE to build eight plants that convert solid household waste into energy. The total project cost will reach $1.28 bln.

These facilities will process over 4.7 mln tonnes of waste each year. They will generate 2.1 bln kWh of electricity, valued at about $97 mln. As a result, the number of landfills will drop fivefold. The projects will also cut greenhouse gas emissions by 2.4 mln tonnes and save 152 mln cubic metres of natural gas.

Uzbekistan has adopted a new version of the law regulating the ownership and use of subsoil resources. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the document.

All mineral resources located in the subsoil are considered state property and are subject to protection and rational use. This rule applies regardless of land or water ownership rights.

The state grants the right to use subsoil resources within the legal framework established by law. However, these rights cannot be sold, gifted, inherited, or used as collateral.

Uzbekistan plans to establish a medical complex in Navoi. The investment project received approval from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, according to the Ministry of Health.

The main scenario envisions stable global economic growth, lower global inflation, and other favourable factors. Under these conditions, Uzbekistan’s GDP could grow by about 5.5–6% in 2025, 5.5–6.5% in 2026, and 6–6.5% in 2027.
