A suicide bomber detonated explosives outside a district court in Islamabad on Tuesday, killing 12 people and injuring 27, Pakistan’s interior minister Mohsin Naqvi said.
The blast occurred beside a police vehicle after the attacker failed to enter the heavily crowded court premises. The explosion, heard miles away, struck during peak hours as hundreds of visitors were attending hearings. Early reports mistakenly suggested a car bomb.
