President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan delivered a statement at a ceremony honoring March 8, emphasising the country’s commitment to enhancing social protection for women. His remarks were reported by the press office of the head of state.
He noted that, following an assessment of the situation of women in each mahalla, 1 mln women in need of support have been documented in a “women’s notebook.” This year, targeted efforts will focus on assisting these women, including 162,000 women with disabilities who will receive medical care in sanatoria, clini, and their local mahallas.
