Beyonce has officially been declared a billionaire by Forbes, making her the fifth musician to join the list of the world’s wealthiest artists.
She joins an exclusive group of musicians with ten-figure fortunes, including Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen and her husband Jay-Z, whose net worth Forbes estimates at $2.5 bn (£1.85 bn).
Earlier this month, Forbes valued Beyoncé at $800 mln (£593 mln) and predicted she would surpass the billionaire mark after years of success.
Her 2023 Renaissance World Tour grossed nearly $600 mln, cementing her status as one of the top pop icons globally alongside Taylor Swift. Beyoncé also produced a concert film, distributing it through AMC cinemas, earning almost half of the $44 mln (£33 mln) global box office.
Her 2024 album Cowboy Carter, celebrating the Black roots of country music, won her first Grammy Award for Album of the Year. The accompanying tour, featuring guest appearances from Jay-Z, two of their children and former Destiny’s Child members, brought in over $400 mln from ticket sales and $50 mln in merchandise.
While the tour set record ticket prices at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Paris’s Stade de France, some shows struggled with slow sales, prompting promoters to lower prices. Tickets ranged from £71 to £950, the highest for any artist visiting the UK in 2025.
Beyonce also earned around $50 mln for a special halftime performance at Netflix’s first Christmas Day NFL game and $10 mln from Levi’s adverts, according to Forbes.
Bloomberg’s billionaire index listed Selena Gomez with a net worth of $1.3bn (£962m) in 2024, but Forbes estimates her wealth at $700m (£518m).
Kursiv also reports that James Cameron has become only the fifth film director to reach billionaire status, with an estimated net worth of $1.1 bn.
