The wait is over for fans of the To All the Boys universe! The highly anticipated XO, Kitty season 3 just dropped on April 2, 2026, delivering all eight 30-minute episodes of chaotic drama, swoon-worthy romance and a heavy dose of sisterly love.

As Kitty Song Covey (Anna Cathcart) enters her senior year at the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS) after spending the summer in New York, the stakes are higher than ever. With graduation looming, the series takes a noticeably more mature turn.

If you’re ready to binge (or already have), here is everything you need to know about the show’s most grown-up season yet, what the critics are saying and the buzz surrounding a potential Season 4.

Growing Up: A New Era for Kitty

After two seasons of serving as a confident matchmaker and navigating her own messy love triangles, Season 3 strips back the boy-crazy antics to focus on Kitty’s individual identity. Showrunner Valentina Garza intentionally steered the show into more adult territory this semester, tackling real-world issues like financial struggles, college pressures and family crises.

Anna Cathcart recently shared that this season is a major turning point.

«For the first time, XO, Kitty isn’t about who Kitty loves, it’s about who she is without them,» Cathcart explained.

This self-discovery journey sees Kitty directing her energy toward her dream of attending NYU and stepping up to support her cousin, Jiwon (Hojo Shin), through an unexpected pregnancy.

The Rollercoaster Romance of Kitty and Min Ho

For the «MoonCovey» shippers, Season 3 is an emotional rollercoaster. The season opens with Kitty and Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee) finally making their relationship official. However, the honeymoon phase doesn’t last long.

A massive misunderstanding, in which Kitty mistakenly accuses Min Ho of getting their friend pregnant, leads to a devastating mid-season breakup. This split serves as the catalyst for Kitty to prioritize her independence.

But true to the franchise’s K-drama inspirations, the romance isn’t dead. The season concludes with an epic, grand-gesture train station chase across Seoul, culminating in the two reconciling and boarding a flight together to Portland so Min Ho can finally meet Kitty’s dad, Dr. Covey.

A Highly Anticipated To All the Boys Reunion

Perhaps the most exciting moment of Season 3 is the long-awaited return of Lana Condor as Lara Jean Covey. Set four years after the events of the final To All the Boys film, Lara Jean is now a college graduate pursuing a writing career.

When Kitty hits a rough patch in her relationship and future plans, her big sister drops everything to fly to Seoul. Cathcart noted that having Lara Jean back brings out a completely different, younger-sister side of Kitty that viewers haven’t seen in the spin-off yet. Lara Jean, having done her own self-reflection over the years, arrives fully equipped to dole out the perfect older-sister advice.

The KISS Crew and Critical Reception

The halls of KISS are packed with familiar faces this season, including Dae (Minyeong Choi), Yuri (Gia Kim), and Q (Anthony Keyvan), alongside new additions like Sule Thelwell (Marius), Soy Kim (Yisoo) and Christine Hwang (Gigi).

While fans are thrilled to have the KISS crew back, critics have noted that Season 3 is a bit of a bumpy ride. Reviews, such as those from ScreenRant, highlight that while the ensemble cast’s chemistry shines, particularly during standout moments like the Episode 5 Chuseok celebration, the season occasionally buckles under the weight of its own drama.

With no central «villain» to anchor the conflict and frequent time jumps, the narrative can feel a bit fragmented, relying heavily on the audience’s love for the characters to carry it through the messier plotlines.

Will There Be an XO, Kitty Season 4?

With Season 3 ending on that flight to Portland, fans are already clamoring for more. As of right now, Netflix has not officially renewed XO, Kitty for a fourth season. However, there is no need to panic just yet.

Netflix typically waits a few weeks to a month to announce renewals (Season 3, for instance, wasn’t announced until Valentine’s Day the year prior). Given that the show historically splits a school year across two seasons, a potential Season 4 would likely cover the second half of Kitty’s senior year, graduation and the bittersweet transition into college life.

For now, fans can enjoy the eight new episodes currently streaming on Netflix and cross their fingers that the KISS crew will be back for one last semester.
