BTS concluded the North American leg of their «Arirang» world tour, playing to 840,000 fans across 15 performances, Yonhap reports.
According to the group’s management agency BigHit Music, BTS performed a string of sold-out concerts in the U.S. cities of Tampa, El Paso, Stanford and Las Vegas, alongside a massive show in Mexico City. Unprecedented ticket demand from fans prompted organisers to add extra dates in Tampa, Stanford and Las Vegas, all of which sold out immediately.
The tour, which officially kicked off last month, marks a historic reunion for the band. It is their first collective live venture following a hiatus of almost four years while all seven members completed their mandatory military service in South Korea.
Their absence has clearly not dampened their commercial power. Figures published by the U.S. music magazine Billboard revealed that the band grossed $76.2 mln and shifted 417,000 tickets across just eight April dates in Goyang, Tokyo and Tampa. This phenomenal revenue crowned «Arirang» as the highest-grossing global tour for that month.
Following their triumph in North America, the group is now preparing to return to their home country for the next stage of the tour. They are scheduled to perform in the southeastern port city of Busan on June 12 and 13.
