«This Morning» presenter Alison Hammond has ruled out marrying her partner David Putman despite describing their three-year relationship as incredibly strong.
The 51-year-old broadcaster confirmed she has no plans for a wedding with the 28-year-old Russian model and massage therapist. Speaking to The Mirror, Hammond explained that a formal union is unnecessary for the couple.
«We don’t need to,» Hammond said regarding marriage. «We’re both cool.»
The television anchor described the romance as effortless. She emphasised that Putman accepts her authentically and they consciously choose each other daily.
Addressing the 22-year age gap that has attracted public attention, Hammond dismissed outside opinions. She asserted that the age difference is irrelevant to their dynamic and noted that critics will inevitably talk.
«It’s nothing to do with anyone else,» she said. «Yeah, people are going to talk. People do. But that’s their business, not mine.»
The pair initially connected in 2023 when Hammond booked a massage appointment with Putman. While they maintain a relatively private relationship with only occasional social media appearances together, Hammond previously told Good Housekeeping magazine that Putman’s maturity bridges the generational divide. She acknowledged that the age difference might seem stark on paper but makes complete sense to anyone who sees them interact in person.
