Some Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) fans are so eager to play the upcoming game that they would temporarily give up their pets, relationships and everyday comforts for early access, according to a new survey of American gamers.

Unwind Media conducted a poll among 1,347 people who are interested in the upcoming release of Rockstar Games, which is planned to be released on November 19, 2026.

Among respondents who owned pets, 7% said they would give up their animal for a month in exchange for playing GTA 6 a week before it goes on sale. It rose to 13% among pet owners who had already pre-ordered the game.

The survey also revealed that 21% of sexually active respondents would give up sex for a month to play early. 25% of women agreed versus 19% of men, making women more likely to make that trade.

The answers were hypothetical and do not show that players actually plan to abandon their pets or make these sacrifices.

What else would GTA 6 fans give up?

Many respondents were prepared to temporarily forego their usual routines in exchange for early access, according to the survey.

More than half of respondents who drink alcohol, or 53%, said they would stop drinking for a month. Another 43% of smokers would give up cigarettes, while more than 40% were willing to avoid fast food or social media.

Coffee and streaming services were also among the things players said they would sacrifice.

The findings also suggest that GTA 6 could affect working schedules. Among employed respondents planning to buy the game at launch, 51% intended to take time off, rising to 62% among those who had already pre-ordered it.

Around 53% said they planned to play GTA 6 together with their partner, including 71% of female respondents and 39% of male respondents.
