Television broadcaster Jeremy Clarkson has disclosed that he has been diagnosed with cancer. The 66-year-old shared the deeply personal news during an episode of the recently released fifth series of Clarkson’s Farm which became available to viewers on Wednesday.

While the exact date of the filming remains unspecified the latest series was shot across 2024 and 2025. In emotional scenes the presenter is shown informing his agricultural colleagues Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland of his condition leaving both men visibly stunned.

A shocking health update

Although Jeremy Clarkson did not explicitly name the exact type of cancer he is battling he did confirm that a portion of his prostate had been removed as part of his ongoing medical treatment. He described the disease as aggressive but reassured his co-stars that it had been caught at an early stage.

«I disappeared off the other week and I had a biopsy, and it is cancer, and it’s aggressive, but it’s really early,» Clarkson explained on camera.

He noted that he had been aware of the diagnosis since May and promised the pair that he would be fine despite needing to be out of action for a short period.

The emotional reveal was heavily hinted at by the presenter ahead of the broadcast. On Tuesday evening he uploaded a video to Instagram to warn his loyal followers that the final two episodes of the series would be a difficult watch.

Ongoing medical challenges

The presenter’s physical health has been a recurring theme throughout the fifth series of the hit agricultural show. The season originally opened with Jeremy Clarkson recounting a serious heart procedure he underwent in October 2024.

Detailing the ordeal in his Sunday Times column at the time he explained that one of his major arteries was completely blocked while a second was rapidly deteriorating. Medical professionals fitted him with a stent to widen the narrowed artery and successfully restore proper blood flow.

A television legacy

Clarkson remains one of the most recognisable faces on British television. He is best known for fronting the BBC’s flagship motoring programme Top Gear alongside Richard Hammond and James May between 2002 and 2015. The beloved trio later moved to Amazon to host the globe-trotting series The Grand Tour.

In 2021 he launched Clarkson’s Farm to document his often chaotic attempts to manage an expansive agricultural property in the Cotswolds. The programme quickly became a massive commercial success and a massive draw for the streaming platform. Alongside his rural endeavours he also continues to present the ITV quiz programme Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
