South Korean singer Yeonjun has recorded the highest first-day sales of any domestic soloist this year following the release of his latest mini album.
The TXT member launched «NO LABELS: PART 02» on July 10. By the end of its debut day, the record sold 661,924 copies according to Hanteo Chart data. This 24-hour figure comfortably eclipsed the first-week sales total of 601,105 copies established by his previous release last year.
With the official tracking period running until July 16, the final tally is expected to grow significantly.
Evolving identity and visual metaphors
The new project expands on the artist’s refusal to be confined by standard industry categories. Speaking to Hypebeast, Yeonjun explained that the series focuses on his ongoing evolution rather than static titles. He stated that his creative identity is best distilled into a single word: his own name.
This conceptual focus extends to the album’s lead single, «Ice Cream». The track uses the dessert as a metaphor for a romantic relationship that requires careful distance, noting that rushing causes a «brain freeze» while too much heat makes it melt. To express this visually, Yeonjun developed nearly 50 choreographic movements incorporating subtle gestures like scooping and melting.
Driven by the Billboard chart success of the first «NO LABELS» instalment, the singer noted he felt more comfortable experimenting with new styles on this sequel.
That creative freedom is yielding immediate commercial results. By July 11, the mini album secured the No. 1 position on iTunes Top Albums charts in 11 regions including Japan, Thailand and Saudi Arabia. «Ice Cream» achieved similar international traction. It reached No. 1 on the iTunes Top Songs chart in 10 territories such as the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam and the Philippines. Domestically, the track debuted at the summit of the Bugs real-time chart just an hour after release.
