At least 25 individuals have lost their lives and four have sustained severe injuries following a massive explosion at a fireworks factory in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, BBC reports.
The devastating blast took place at the Vanaja Fireworks Industry in the Virudhunagar district on Sunday evening. Although the facility was officially scheduled to be closed for the weekend, local officials reported that approximately 50 employees were working inside the premises.
